Octohoodie and the Mediterranean Holiday.

Look, pretty much nothing, and I mean nothing can beat our local beaches.
Golden sand, brilliantly blue seas and an impressive amount of weird and wonderful sea life… But even I can’t deny that a certain wanderlust takes over when I think of exotic beaches a little further north. Here are the top three on my bucket list.
Greece
Those of us with kidlets know that holidays with the entire family can, at times, be tiring. This is why I’ve chosen a family-friendly destination as #1 on my bucket list. From typical white sands to the more dark and pebbly beaches, Greece has both secluded bays and Blue Flag beaches heaving with people and activities. Whichever you (or your kiddos) prefer, the water is balmy and the Mediterranean climate is perfect. Not only that, but the Aegean coastline is one of the few homes of the endangered Mediterranean monk seal. Look how cute they are!
Portugal
Covering more than 850km, the Portuguese coast boasts too many beaches to count. Whether you’re into white sandy stretches with idyllic blue water or more wild coves with jagged cliffs, Portugal will not disappoint. I’m personally longing to visit the Algarve region, which has 3000 hours of sun per year to go with its exquisite beaches and fancy resorts. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
Turkey
We’ve all seen those fabulous photos of hot air balloons, but did you know that Turkey is also a beach lovers' paradise? And here’s a fun fact: the highest water temperature in Cape Town sits at a crisp 18.9°C, while the highest water temperature in Turkey sits at 28.9°C. You don’t need to be a maths whizz to know that, at that temperature, the water is positively balmy. Add that to the sunny climate, pristine coastline with amazing sea views and Turkey easily scoops up the final place on my bucket list
